At Trinity we celebrate God’s children in all of our beautiful forms. We open our hearts and church to all, regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender identity, social status, political views, abilities, who we are or who we love. Together we strive to grow in love and joyfully serve God, our community and the whole of God’s creation. We make this journey together.
At Trinity’s Annual Meeting in January 2019, we decided to undertake the journey of becoming a Reconciling in Christ congregation, to intentionally welcome members of the LGBTQ+ community to our church. Since that time, we have hosted a training for 20 members of our congregation, formed a dedicated team to lead this initiative, held guest speaker events, video screening events, held open forums for opportunities to ask questions and discuss the process, and circulated informational flyers and terminology sheets. We are also planning a Bible Study to explore how our RIC journey aligns with biblical teachings.
